RML is delighted to announce the conclusion of the "Find Your Voice" Adult Reading Challenge, an inspiring literary journey that unfolded from January 1st to December 31st, 2023. The challenge encouraged readers to explore the rich tapestry of literature by delving into something new or different by reading from twelve thoughtfully curated categories, including Author’s 1st Book; Author/Genre Never Read; Autobiography/Memoir; Community Themed; Epistolary (Letter or Journal); Featuring a creative activity; Featuring social change; History; Magazine; Poetry; Recommended; and Religious, Spiritual, or Inspirational. As readers immersed themselves in these categories, they earned prize drawing entries for a chance to win exciting rewards.
The moment everyone has been waiting for has arrived – the winners of the "Find Your Voice" Adult Reading Challenge. After a thorough and random drawing, the library is pleased to announce the following recipients of Waukon Bucks and Gift Certificates: Anna Wilkes, Jennifer Achenbach, and Brigid Whalen. Additionally, Lori Heitman emerged as the winter of the coveted tablet prize.
The statistics reflect the overwhelming success of the challenge, with a total of 261 books read by the 37 dedicated participants. Among these avid readers, an impressive 12 individuals completed the challenge by exploring each of the twelve specified categories.
