Special activities planned for Children’s Book Week, held Monday, November 4 – Saturday, November 9, includes the following:
- Spin-The-Wheel for daily prizes (one spin per day)
- Teddy Bear Sleep Over on Friday, November 8 from 5:00-5:45pm. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animal (or second favorite) to enjoy stories and an activity. Then tuck your stuffed animal in for a sleepover at the library. Children can stop in on Saturday between 10am – 4pm to pick up their stuffed animal and a photo of the fun and mischief gotten into overnight.
Launched in 1919, Children’s Book Week commemorates its 105th anniversary in 2024. It is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country, originating in the belief that children’s books and literacy are life-changers. The twice-annual celebration boasts of over 3,000 participating schools, libraries, and bookstores in all 50 states.
