RML is excited to announce its participation in this year’s Corn Days festivities with two engaging events designed for families and book lovers alike. Scheduled to coincide with the town’s annual Corn Days celebration, these events promise to bring creativity and literary joy to the community.

Chalk the Walk at Robey Memorial Library

Kick-starting the festivities, RML invites children and families to unleash their creativity during Chalk the Walk on August 2 from 10am-6pm & August 3 from 10am-4pm. Participants will transform the library's sidewalks into vibrant canvases with colorful chalk creations. This event is a fantastic opportunity for budding artists and families to express themselves artistically in a fun, outdoor setting.

"We're thrilled to host 'Chalk the Walk' again this year," said Ellie Krousie, Robey Memorial Library’s Children’s Librarian. "It's a wonderful way for the community to come together, unleash their creativity, and enjoy the summer weather."

Main Street Story Walk featuring There's a Bear In My Chair

Continuing the celebration, RML presents the Main Street Story Walk, taking place through the month of August. Participants will embark on a leisurely stroll down Main Street while enjoying the charming children's book There's a Bear In My Chair by Ross Collins. Pages of the book will be displayed in storefronts along the route, creating a delightful literary adventure for families to enjoy together.

"The Main Street Story Walk combines the joy of reading with the excitement of exploring our town during Corn Days," said Ellie Krousie. "It's a unique way to promote literacy and community spirit."

Both events are free and open to the public, encouraging families to participate and celebrate Robey’s vibrant community spirit during Corn Days. Participants are encouraged to visit Robey Memorial Library's website or contact the library directly for more information on event timings and guidelines.
