Robey Memorial Library is excited to resume our Homeschool Show & Tell program, an engaging and educational initiative designed to nurture creativity, develop public speaking skills, and inspire a love for learning among homeschool students.
The Homeschool Show & Tell program is a dynamic and interactive series of sessions specially crafted for homeschool students of all ages. The program aims to provide a platform for young learners to:
- Explore Fascinating Topics: Participants will have the opportunity to speak on a topic they are passionate about and present it to their peers.
- Develop Public Speaking Skills: Public speaking is a vital skill in today's world. Through regular presentations, students will gain confidence and competence in articulating their ideas effectively.
- Encourage Critical Thinking: Engaging in thoughtful discussions and answering questions from their peers fosters critical thinking and communication skills.
- Build Lifelong Learning Habits: The program fosters a love for learning, promoting the idea that education doesn't end with formal schooling.
The Homeschool Show & Tell program is open to students of all ages. Sessions will be held monthly on the first Tuesday at 11am providing a consistent platform for students to share and learn. The first Homeschool Show & Tell session is Tuesday, September 3 sharing something you love to learn about. Topics through the year are as follows:
- September 3-Something you love learning
- October 1-Something unique about you
- November 5-Something you are thankful for
- December 3-Something you collect
- January 7-Favorite sport or physical activity
- February 4-Item beginning with a "B"
- March 4-Favorite memory
- April 1-Favorite song or poem
- May 6-Something you enjoy doing w/ a family member
Guidelines for show & tell items: you must be able to carry your show & tell item yourself; the item must be appropriate for all ages; and it can be nothing too expensive or irreplaceable (we recommend a photo of such an item).
